Storing Your Tires? Here are Some Helpful Tips

In many parts of the country, weather conditions require drivers to have more than one set of tires per vehicle. Storing the extra set is not as simple as just tossing them in the shed.

Following a few suggestions and storing the extra set of tires correctly ensures that the tires last and perform to their best without damage or uneven wear.

  • Unmounted (off the rim) tires are best stored in a clean, cool and dark area, standing upright side-by-side, rather than stacked.
  • It is preferable to store tires under cover.
  • Whitewall tires should be facing one other to avoid stain from the black rubber.
  • Do not hang them from the hooks of any kind.
